The Knights of Columbus Columbia Council 411 was formed in 1899 with 29 members. The group originally provided insurance for its members and a burial fund for poor Irish Catholics. Today the programs are based on charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. There are over 100 members on the current Dalton enrollment.

A Call to Service
Join the Knights of ColumbuS
K of C Council #411 in Dalton is a fraternal organization dedicated to assisting the church and the community in a wide range of volunteer programs and charity services. We’re looking to expand our reach and identify those who share our desire to help the church, local schools, the elderly, physically challenged individuals, veterans, and those struggling amidst the pandemic.
Our work has had enormous impact since the council was founded in 1899. Our charity fund provides Christmas presents to needy kids and our Tootsie Roll drive assists those who are developmentally challenged. We give scholarships to high school seniors and our handyman committee works on small but often critical projects. Our signature event, Pastamania, brings the community together on Fat Tuesday - the day before Ash Wednesday, with a bountiful dinner that celebrates the arrival of Lent. Overall, we do a lot of great work and the rewards take the form of fun-filled events, a spirt of camaraderie, and friendships that last a lifetime.
We’re recruiting new members who want to make a big difference to people in need. To join, go to KofC.org/joinus and complete the form, including our council number (411) where indicated. To join offline, contact Grand Knight Joe Grande at joe@jgrandecommunications.com or call 413.204.0249. Make a difference, become a Knight!

A TRIBUTE TO BROTHER JOE POIRIER
K of C Council #411 recently had the distinct honor and pleasure to present the Lifetime Service Award to fellow Brother, Joe Poirier, for his 65 years as a Knight. Joe has moved from Dalton to Chelmsford to be closer to his family.
Joe has meant so much to the council over these many years. He has been the heart and soul of Council #411 and we will miss his dedication, spirit, and energy. He has always epitomized what it means to be a Knight. During his six and a half decades of service, Joe's contributions are countless. Probably the most significant is the Toy & Charity fund which he started 30 years ago and remains one of the council's most important charitable activities.
We have been awed by Joe's genuine kindness and his steadfast commitment to our order, the church, and community. We will miss our dear friend and brother. May he continue to enjoy good health and all of God's blessings.
God Bless Joe, our friend and special brother.
